[Karen Magill] A Nail Biting Story of International Intrigue, December 7, 2013
When Alexis Leighton goes to her estranged father’s home in the prestigious British Properties in West Vancouver and finds a dead body, how was she to know that she would embark on a journey that would shatter the world she knew?
Though Alexis resents her father enough to have taken her mother’s maiden name, she doesn’t believe that he is a murderer and is determined to find the truth. She is convinced that the answer lie in a little town in Italy where her father’s business empire first started. Once there, Alexis finds answers to questions she never even thought of and her pursuit of the truth puts her life in danger.
Deadly Switch: A Stone Suspense takes the reader from the posh mansions of West Vancouver to a romantic village in Italy and keeps us on the edge of our seats as the story unwinds. This is Ms. Dodd’s first novel and I am eagerly waiting for the sequel. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but I enjoyed it so much, I will be paying for the next one.
[Angela Greville] Deadly Switch: A thoroughly delicious read!, December 4, 2013
The fast paced, intricately constructed plot reels you in and doesn’t let go. It is at every turn, clever, witty, suspenseful, entertaining and romantic. The masterful writing seamlessly weaves back and forth across continents and decades. The distinctly west coast feel of Vancouver, and of Carmel, California are perfectly captured and then we are whisked off to the the lush descriptions and ambiance of Italy. It’s brimming with exciting well drawn characters and the culmination of events is extremely satisfying. It was positively addictive and I am thrilled there are going to be sequels! It was a great deal to receive a free advance reader copy in exchange for writing this review. I will be recommending it to everyone I know!
